If you have some pieces of hessian and batting or pillow stuffing laying around, and maybe some small pieces of material, then this is a nice project that can be given as gifts or to add some personality to your doors!
I started off by decorating the front pieces of the bags with some buttons and birds cut out from left over material. I then hand-embroided the edges.
Next you sow the two sides together, outsides facing each other. You can add the rope as well, just make sure the loop is on the inside of the two pieces of hessian. Leave the one side open so that you can place the filling bag inside.
For the filling, I just took a normal plastic bag, added some stones as well as some left over batting to add some softness and puffiness to the doorstop.
Now simply insert this bag into your hessian bag, and sow the side closed.
The final size was about 17cm x 10cm. A really inexpensive doorstop that is unique and will work nicely as a gift!
